Product Requirements
The Following is Required for Ascend to sync Inventory with Shopify:
-
Ascend In-Store SKU MUST match the Shopify SKU exactly.
- Note: SKU matching is case-sensitive. Ascend uses uppercase SKU, so the SKU must be uppercase in Shopify.
- Note: If you have been creating your own Shopify SKUs that do not match the Ascend In-Store SKU, additional setup work is required.
- Tracked Quantity should be Enabled in Shopify.
- Product MUST be Enabled (Online Shop) in Shopify.
- Product MUST be Active in Shopify.
- Product MUST be Active (not hidden) in Ascend.
- eCommerce box MUST be checked in the Properties box within the Ascend In-Store Product record.
If you have already been using Shopify it is required that your Product SKUs match between Ascend and Shopify. If you are unsure how to handle this process, please reach out to Ascend Support for further guidance.
If you are brand new to Shopify, please jump down to the section Export Shopify Product Export from Ascend HQ to easily upload all of your Ascend Product data.
Will Ascend Automatically Create Products in Shopify?
No. You will be responsible for creating products in Shopify. We have a report in Ascend HQ to help with initial product import to Shopify.
Will Ascend Upload Photos, Extended Product Descriptions, etc. to Shopify?
No. You will be responsible for uploading or adding photos and any product descriptions to Shopify.
How Many Variants Can I Have?
50. The Ascend/Shopify Integration currently caps variants at 50 per model. This cap is an integration limitation due to mapping/data model differences in Ascend, API, performance constraints, and code complexity.
