Process a custom payment type

  1. Ascend’s default payment types cover the most common scenarios. But for those occasions when your business needs more flexibility, custom payment types can be created. See Create custom payment types for information on setting up new payment types.
  2. From the Payment toolbar, click the payment button. If the payment type doesn’t display, you may need to click the double arrows on the right to display more buttons.
  3. The Amount field automatically populates with the amount due on the transaction. If the amount the customer gave you is different, enter that amount instead.
  4. Click the Save button.
  5. If the customer overpaid on the transaction, the Change Due dialog box displays. Click OK to return cash to the customer.
