Software crashes can slow you down and frustrate customers. Here are our top five tips for keeping your hardware responsive and avoiding a future crash.

  1. Restart your computer and hardware daily, including Ingenico payment terminals.
    1. Daily restarts help computers run smoothly and resolve many peripheral and hardware issues.
    2. A consistent restart schedule keeps your machine more secure because security patches will be installed automatically.
  2. Run Windows updates through the Windows Update Center. Configure the Windows® settings for Ascend on the computer.
  3. Make sure Ascend is up to date (Install an Ascend update). Beginning with Ascend version 22.2, updates will occur automatically and are no longer optional — but you may choose the timing.
  4. Ensure your workstation is set up correctly. Follow the steps in Install a new workstation when adding or troubleshooting a workstation.
  5. Run Dell updates through Dell Command Updates.

Following a daily restart plan, keeping systems up to date, and properly setting up your system will improve performance on all your computers.  For extra security, you can also check out Trek’s tips for better cybersecurity (sign into B2B to access).
